Paddlefest was one of Mountain Equipment Co-op’s national signature community events. It celebrated paddling with kayak, canoe, and stand-up paddleboard demos, skills clinics, and a gear swap, and Calgary-area editions showed up on festival calendars through the 2010s.
Like Bikefest, Paddlefest was documented in MEC’s 2013 annual report. MEC sold its assets in 2020 and the event program appears to have ended around 2019 or 2020. The most recent editions we could confirm ran around 2017 to 2019, and nothing has been announced since.
