The park’s historic steam locomotives take to the tracks, including a rare double-header run. Visitors can ride an authentic steam train, tour the cab of an antique engine, watch the once-a-year 1907 turntable demonstration, ride a handcar, send telegraphs between stations, watch the locomotive take on water, and explore model railway displays. Kids can join the Railway Challenge for interactive activities.

The 2026 edition was billed as the 40th anniversary of Railway Days, which points to a first edition around 1986. It is one of the park’s most popular annual special events alongside Once Upon a Christmas and the summer programs.
