Halloween on Mainstreet is a free family Halloween afternoon on Mainstreet Bowness, with trick-or-treating at participating businesses plus kids’ activities.

Kids trick-or-treat at participating Mainstreet Bowness businesses through the afternoon, with extras that have varied by year: a pet pawrade, costume fun for kids, adults and pets, a pumpkin carving contest, Halloween crafts, photos with YYC Princess characters and local vendor stalls. Past editions have included free hot dogs, free hot chocolate from Tim Hortons, free pumpkins and free soap samples from local shops.
The event has run since about 2017 under the name Trick-or-Treat on Mainstreet (the October 2024 edition was billed as the 8th annual), was rebranded as Boo-fest in 2025, and is now called Halloween on Mainstreet. It is organized by the Mainstreet Bowness BIA throughout.
