The Cochrane Lions Labour Day Rodeo is a volunteer-run amateur rodeo held every Labour Day weekend at the Cochrane Lions Rodeo Grounds in downtown Cochrane.
About
The weekend packs in bull riding, barrel racing, saddle bronc, bareback riding, team roping, tie-down roping, mutton busting and wild pony racing. There is also a Friday night concert, a Saturday night cabaret, a free community BBQ and concert day, and the traditional Labour Day parade through downtown on Monday.
The first rodeo was held in September 1968, organized by the Cochrane Lions Club as a fundraiser for community projects. In 2026 the Town of Cochrane and the Lions Club signed a 50-year lease for Lions Legacy Park, securing the grounds’ future.
