The Chinatown Street Festival is a free one day celebration of Chinese culture in Calgary’s historic Chinatown. The street closes for stage performances, lion and dragon dances, food and market booths, martial arts demonstrations, and family activities.
About
Presented by the Calgary Chinatown Business Improvement Area, the festival turns the streets around 3 Avenue and 1 Street SE into a day long block party. Expect lion and dragon dances, live stage performances, martial arts demonstrations, market booths, and plenty of food. It is free, all ages, and pet friendly, and typically runs 11 AM to 7 PM.
The organizer does not publish the festival’s first year. It runs under the sponsored title TD Chinatown Street Festival, and the BIA’s own calendar lists recent editions including August 15, 2026.
