The City of Calgary puts on the celebration every July 1, and in recent years it has spread across several downtown sites. The main stage concert at Prince’s Island Park features Canadian acts, with Indigenous programming at The Confluence, cultural activities at the Municipal Building and Sien Lok Park, and family activities at Eau Claire Plaza. The day closes with a fireworks show launched from Stampede Park at about 11 p.m.

There is no confirmed first year for the current city-run format of the celebration, so we have not listed one here.
