BrazilFest is Calgary’s annual celebration of Brazilian culture, organized by the Brazilian Community Association of Alberta. It features live Brazilian music, traditional folk dance, authentic Brazilian food, and business exhibitors.
About
The music runs from forro and samba to headline guest bands, and the dance lineup includes capoeira, carimbo, frevo, and bumba meu boi. Recent editions have mixed ticketed evening shows with free cultural programs tied to Alberta Culture Days.
BrazilFest is organized by the Brazilian Community Association of Alberta, which marked 20 years in September 2023. The association’s archive notes admission has been free for the public since 2010, indicating editions by that year, and documents editions in 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. The 2021 edition was postponed because of COVID-19.
