History Of Garrison Green
Garrison Green occupies the former Canadian Forces Base Calgary, on lands once known as Lincoln Park South in the CFB West Master Plan and home to the Lincoln Park married quarters. After the base closed, the land was redeveloped into a residential neighbourhood.
The community sits beside the Marda Loop shopping and dining district in southwest Calgary. It does not have its own community association; residents identify with the Marda Loop Communities Association.

Garrison Green sits beside the Marda Loop district. The Marda Loop Business Improvement Area, established December 18, 1984 as Calgary's second BIA, represents local businesses and runs the annual Marda Gras Street Festival each August.
