History Of Elboya

1910 The land is annexed to the City of Calgary.
1947 Elboya is established as a neighbourhood.
2021 The federal census records a population of 1,835.

The land was annexed to the city in 1910, but Elboya was not established as a neighbourhood until 1947. Its position above the Elbow River made it a desirable residential area as Calgary grew south after the Second World War.

Today Elboya remains one of the city's smaller communities, with a mix of mid-century homes and newer infills, and is served jointly with Britannia by a merged community association.
